Broadway and West End star, Rachel Tucker’s new album ‘…you’re already home’ is absolutely stunning, brilliantly combining theatre, pop and rock. This collection is designed to reflect, “the hard choices we sometimes have to make between family, home and career. The tracks reflect these different elements of our lives and the choices we make.” Produced by Westway Music and distributed by Absolute, this album is an absolute must listen.

Tucker describes how “we’ve tried to give the pop and rock songs more theatre and drama, and the musical theatre songs more of a pop feel”, which works amazingly in the album. Each song is connected, despite their different genres out of context, with an incredibly cohesive feel running throughout. You can’t question the true magnitude of Rachel Tucker’s vocal range – there are moments within the album where Tucker delivers brilliant belts, leaning heavily into the rock genre, and then there are softer moments that are more calming to listen to, and yet each track compliments the next. This album has a song for whatever mood you’re in.
Perhaps the track that I’m most excited about is the cover of ‘Happier Than Ever’ featuring Jamie Muscato, originally by Billie Eilish. If you think about big belting vocals on the West End, both Rachel Tucker and Jamie Muscato are names that instantly come to mind, so this collaboration is genius! I’ll admit that I’ve listened to this track on repeat around my house relentlessly since I first heard it, and its now completely stuck in my head, but take that as your sign to go and give it a listen!
Another track that’s incredibly powerful, but in an entirely different way, is ‘Everything Changes’, from the highly popular musical Waitress. The emotion Tucker brings to this song is sublime, also the case with her cover of ‘He’s My Boy’ from the musical Everyone’s Talking About Jamie. Both songs are completely beautiful, but will also you punch you in the gut, so be warned. I also really enjoy the pop and rock songs Tucker includes in her album, for instance her cover of ‘Whole of the Moon’ by The Waterboys. Again, despite these songs being taken from different genres, there’s a baseline that runs through them within the music itself that connects them all, which is really interesting.
Rachel Tucker’s album “…you’re already home” is released November 3rd 2023, and on Sunday November 5th Tucker will be performing at Cadogan Hall, joined by Jamie Muscato, to launch her new album. She says “This album and show encapsulate the music that has shaped my life, from my time in London to New York, Belfast and back! Every note comes straight from my head and my heart, and I’m eager to showcase it all to you”. You can also currently see Rachel Tucker guest starring as Norma Desmond in the critically acclaimed revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard in matinee and Monday performances.
