FRINGE IN 5 – JAMIE FINN

Amy chats to Jamie Finn, creator of Nobody’s Talking About Jamie.

Hey – here’s your chance to give an elevator pitch, can you give us a brief synopsis?

Jamie’s girlfriend has just broken up with him for a man that goes to the gym – obviously. Spin instructor Lily takes him in and he spends the next five years learning how to move forward, on a bike that doesn’t move. Follow Jamie on a comical musical tour of his chaotic wilderness years as he tries to find someone who will finally talk about Jamie!

What inspired the show

Lots of things really – Spin classes, Peter Andre, London – but mainly wanted to write a love letter to all the amazing female friends I’ve ever had!

How important is the Fringe for new work? And how does it feel to be at the Fringe this year?

It’s incredibly important, there are so many amazing artists performing and can’t wait to meet and see their work, it’s incredibly special to be there! I’ve been gearing up to bring this show here for 5 years and it feels so exciting to finally be doing it.

What are the main themes within the production, and what can audiences expect?

Platonic love, co-dependency, therapy and those chaotic early twenties wilderness years. All mixed in with music and jokes!

Finally, with so many shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, why should people book a ticket to this show?

If you like theatre and you like comedy I honestly think there is something for everyone: comedy, music, drama, dance, clowning and I ride a spin bike on stage, how fun! It’s a great time slot (3:40) at a great venue (Underbelly Cowgate) And I’m certain that you won’t be disappointed.

Nobody’s Talking About Jamie is on at Underbelly Cowgate at 3.40pm from the 3rd – 27th – Find out more here!
